Securing a scholarship is a dream for many aspiring students, especially when it covers the full cost of tuition and sometimes even living expenses. If you’re aiming to study in the USA with a 100% scholarship, there are several key steps you can take to increase your chances of success. In this post, we’ll explore some effective strategies to help you achieve this goal.
Education USA Scholars Program
The EducationUSA Scholars Program (ESP) aims to enhance access to U.S. higher education for academically talented international students. ESP students are required to participate in a structured cohort advising program, which the Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy Addis Ababa is seeking to fill with 20 Ethiopian students for the 2024 program. The program’s objective is to assist these high-achieving Ethiopian students in the admissions process to U.S. colleges and universities, thereby enhancing their academic prospects and producing skilled leaders for Ethiopia’s future.
The program provides students with regularly scheduled training sessions to support them throughout the application process for U.S. universities, including guidance on applying for financial aid. Additionally, the program offers academic counseling, assistance with standardized tests (TOEFL, SAT), and support with college application essay writing. Selection of students is based on their academic records, essays, and an interview process.
Of the 20 finalist candidates, 15 exceptionally qualified yet economically disadvantaged students will be selected to benefit from the Opportunity Program Fund (OPF), which covers costs associated with standardized tests, U.S. visa fees, and for the first few successful candidates, a round-trip ticket to the U.S. The remaining 5 students will participate in the training program at no cost but will be expected to cover their preparation expenses from personal funds. Both groups of students will have their mobile data costs covered during the program.
